What are Skill Packs?

Skill Packs are curated bundles of skills that work together for a specific workflow. They come with shared context, optimized dependencies, and community-driven quality signals.

The Core Concept

Instead of finding and combining individual skills yourself, Skill Packs give you a pre-configured bundle that addresses a complete use case. Whether you need frontend development skills, data analysis workflows, or DevOps automation, there's a pack to get you started.

Each pack includes shared context—common knowledge and conventions that apply to all skills in the bundle. When you import a pack, this context is automatically merged into each skill.

Pack Types

Base Packs

Original packs created from scratch. They define the core skills, shared context, and manifest. Base packs can have many editions.

Editions

Forks of base packs customized for specific contexts. An edition might add company-specific guidelines, swap skills, or adjust context.

What's in a Pack?

Skills

References to catalog skills or embedded skill content. Each skill can have a defined role (e.g., "primary", "helper") and dependencies.

Shared Context

Common knowledge files that apply to all skills. Examples: coding standards, API documentation, company guidelines. When you import a pack, context is merged into each skill.

Manifest

Metadata about the pack: name, version, description, author, and any entry points or scripts that should run.

Why Use Skill Packs?

Faster Setup

Get productive immediately with pre-configured skill bundles instead of assembling from scratch.

Proven Combinations

Skills are designed to work together—dependencies are resolved and conflicts avoided.

Shared Context

Common knowledge is applied consistently across all skills in the bundle.

Community Signals

See adoption counts, satisfaction scores, and compare editions before choosing.

Community Signals

Skill Packs include signals that help you evaluate quality:

  • Adoption Count — How many users have imported this pack
  • Satisfaction Score — User-reported effectiveness (1-5 stars)
  • Edition Count — How many customized versions exist
  • Recommendations — Community endorsements
