Getting Started
Access the Skill Builder from My Skills in the navigation. You can create new skills in three ways:
Start from Scratch
Create a blank SKILL.md and write your skill manually using the editor.
Generate with AI
Describe what you want and let Claude generate a complete skill for you. Review, edit, and refine as needed.
Fork from Catalog
Find a similar skill in the catalog and fork it. Customize to fit your needs.

Full-featured markdown editor with syntax highlighting, line numbers, and YAML frontmatter validation.
Live Preview
See how your skill will look when rendered. Preview updates in real-time as you type.
Multi-File Support
Add supporting files: scripts, templates, reference docs. Organize complex skills with multiple resources.
Folder Organization
Organize your skills into folders. Great for keeping related skills together or separating drafts from production.
AI-Powered Generation
The Generate feature uses Claude to create skills from natural language descriptions. It learns from existing high-quality skills in the catalog.
How It Works

- 2.Optionally, we find similar existing skills to learn patterns from
- 3.Claude generates a complete SKILL.md with proper structure
- 4.Review, edit, and refine the generated skill
Similar Skills Discovery
As you type your description, we search the catalog for similar skills. You can choose to:
- •Fork an existing skill instead of generating new
- •Use similar skills as inspiration for generation
- •Generate something entirely new
Testing Your Skills
Before publishing, test your skill in the Playground to ensure it works as expected.
Load your skill in the Playground and interact with an AI agent. See how the agent interprets and uses your skill.
Test with different harness configurations to ensure compatibility across Claude Code, Cursor, and other platforms.
Saving & Organization
Auto-Save
Changes are saved automatically as you work. No need to manually save—your work is always preserved.
Draft Status
New skills start as drafts. Drafts are private and won't appear in any catalog until you explicitly publish them.
Folders
Create folders to organize skills by project, category, or status. Drag and drop to reorganize.
Ready to Publish?
When your skill is ready, submit it for validation and certification. Learn about the review process in the Validation docs.
